What if you could snap a photo and then, after you look at it, adjust the focus? Your daughter’s sparkling eyes not quite sharp? No problem. You really should have focused on Bryant missing the three-pointer instead of the red-faced screaming fan in the foreground? Just click.

And the new technology, which captures much more digital information at once, has application in 3D, perspective shifting and very low light image making.

Invented by a Stanford grad, the Lytro system is still in “stealth mode” (supposedly). But you can check it out here.
